Well, Christmas is coming, isn't it?

Yes, I've already made a little something for my dad (I'm trusting that he won't read this!)
and I'm partway through a couple of other woolly winter accessories for other members of my family. I'm using chunky chunky yarn and the objects are working up very quickly indeed.
One of them I'm using the simplest of single crochet stitches in an attempt to create a pattern for absolute beginners.
Pictures after Christmas!

October 2010
I've been really inspired by the Folk Lore theme happening at the moment. I've loved it since I began to develop a bit of a thing about Sweden and visited Carl Larsson's museum home in Falun. But I also love that Andean look with all the mad patterns and colours thrown in together. But finally I saw this Autumn's Rowan knitting pattern book with the most FABULOUS picture on the font and one or two lovely crochet patterns inside and I decided to give myself free rein with the stitches and make a 'fair isle' type scarf with all the folksy colours I love.
Working hard to finish it before the weather gets seriously cold!

The other thing I'm in the middle of (apart from building this website and writing the book reviews!) is writing my very first pattern for a simple hat I've made. I want to write some more as I've made a couple of things now that are my own designs. They'll all go up on the site as soon as they're done!
